Myrtle Beach

Beach towns have a reputation for being expensive, but they don't have to be. Here in Myrtle Beach, locals and visitors alike have access to an amazing variety of attractions that range from highly affordable to completely free. Our real estate agents are excited to share their favorites!

  • Enjoy Free Public Beach Access - Myrtle Beach, SC 29577
If you're wondering when you can use the public beaches in Myrtle Beach and how much it costs, the answers are "any time" and "not a dime." Located at the heart of the Grand Strand, the city of Myrtle Beach alone has 114 free public beach access points. Many are within walking distance of these Myrtle Beach homes for sale. You can use them any time, but personal belongings must be off the beach between 7 pm and 8 am.

  • Walk the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade - Myrtle Beach, SC 29577
The 1.2-mile Oceanfront Boardwalk and Promenade is one of Myrtle Beach's most iconic features. It won't cost you a penny to stroll up and down the promenade and take in the salty sea air. That being said, you might be tempted to drop a few coins at the shops, eateries and carnival rides along the way.

  • Go Fishing at the 14th Avenue Pier - 1306 N Ocean Blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577
Great fishing spots abound in Myrtle Beach, including eight public fishing piers. A modest fee is required to fish each one, and the 14th Avenue Pier is among the most affordable. A daily fishing pass costs just $7, and rod rentals are just $8. An on-site bait shop also sells bait at a fair price. Anglers looking to fish in Myrtle Beach for free can surf cast from any of the area beaches that don't have a lifeguard present. The best surf fishing is usually around dawn and dusk, when the beaches are least crowded.

  • Explore the Myrtle Beach Art Museum - 3100 S Ocean Blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577
The Myrtle Beach Art Museum is an excellent family-friendly attraction overlooking the coast just minutes from Downtown Myrtle Beach. More properly known by its full name, the Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum is open to the public completely free of charge Tuesday through Sunday every week. With an ever-changing array of exhibits, it's a perfect place to take in some art and culture in between exploring the nearby beaches.

  • Stay & Play at Myrtle Beach State Park - 4401 S Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29575
Offering campgrounds, picnic areas, beach access, hiking trails, a boat launch and fishing pier, Myrtle Beach State Park is a major hub for outdoor adventure in Myrtle Beach. This beautiful park spans 312 acres of beaches, coastal woodlands, marshes and dune grass habitats. Admission is just $8 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $4 for kids age 6-15.

  • Visit the South Carolina Hall of Fame - 2101 N Oak St, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577
Located inside the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, the South Carolina Hall of Fame is a free public attraction that highlights historic figures from the state, past and present. Walking through the South Carolina Hall of Fame offers a chance to see exhibits dedicated to inductees ranging from founding fathers (Thomas Pinckney) and Civil Rights leaders (Septima Poinsette Clark) to music legends (Dizzie Gillespie) and athletes (Joe Frazier).
