Winter Hike

Mild weather means that there's never a bad time for a hike, bike ride, or other outdoor excursion near Myrtle Beach, SC. Our real estate agents know that one of the best things about Myrtle Beach and its surroundings is the abundance of parks, trails, and other natural settings for you to explore.

Let's take a look at a few of the many terrific options for hiking near Myrtle Beach:

  • The Market Common – 4017 Deville Street, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577
The Market Common is the best place to get started with an easy, enjoyable walk. It provides you with the best outdoor shopping and dining in Myrtle Beach, along with special events and live music to enjoy all year round. The people-watching is at its best and you can get warmed up for longer walks out in nature.

  • Myrtle Beach State Park – See Website for Location Information in Myrtle Beach
Myrtle Beach State Park is one of the most popular state parks in South Carolina, and for good reason! You can visit any time of the year to camp right by the beach. If you're taking a day trip, you'll find a number of terrific hiking trails as well as full access to the beautiful shoreline.

  • Brookgreen Gardens – 1931 Brookgreen Drive, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576
Brookgreen Gardens is a historic garden founded back in 1931. It combines beautiful botanical sights with a full nature preserve, fine dining, and a whole slew of educational events. You can sign up for a guided excursion at the Wall Lowcountry Center or choose to walk the Lowcountry Trail during business hours.

  • Cartwheel Bay Heritage Preserve – See Website for Location Information in Nichols, SC
Cartwheel Bay Heritage Preserve provides several different trails that lead around Cartwheel Bay, adding up to 3.5 miles if you stay on the marked path. You're also welcome to leave the Cartwheel Bay Wildlife Management Area to circle Mossy Bay, Stick Bay, or Gray Bay, the latter leading you on a journey of up to 15 miles.

  • Vereen Historical Memorial Gardens – 2250 SC-179, Little River, SC 29566
Vereen Historical Memorial Gardens has been one of the best-kept secrets in South Carolina for three decades and counting. There are many trails to choose from, some of which feature end-to-end boardwalks. These lead across salt marshes and small islands. A landmark gazebo provides a view of the Intracoastal Waterway.

  • Conway Riverwalk – Gray Lake Boulevard, Conway, SC 29526
Conway Riverwalk invites you to enjoy an unparalleled view of "Conway's oldest thoroughfare," the waters of the Waccamaw River. An easygoing 1.5-mile round trip on boardwalks and paved paths provides a refreshing time leading to Riverfront Park at the Conway Marina.

  • Crabtree Swamp – 192 Long Avenue, Conway, SC 29526
Crabtree Swamp offers a different approach to the scenery of Conway, giving you the chance to wander a paved trail with a round trip of just over a mile and a half. With plenty of parking and a marked trailhead, this free stop is a popular one among dog owners, who often meet and greet each other along the way.

  • East Bay Park – 515 East Bay Street, Georgetown, SC 29440
